Ownership
IMQ is a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of LKBN ANTARA (Indonesia National News Agency).
IMQ was established on March 27th, 1996. Previously, IMQ was owned by two news agencies, LKBN ANTARA and Australian Associated Press (AAP). However, since June 2002, IMQ ownership has been fully taking over by LKBN ANTARA. Consequently, IMQ has become a part of state owned company up to recent time.
LKBN ANTARA was established in 1937 and it was the only channel to disseminate news of Indonesian movement in having its independency. In 1962, ANTARA was officially become National News Agency that was directly under the President of Republic of Indonesia. Starting August 2007, ANTARA became a State Owned Company.
